What is Love??? Is it even possible?

The Grapevine fellowship mommies and daddies enjoyed a fun and insighful discussion on
"LOVE ~ WHAT IS IT?"
Our buddy Sam led us in a fantastic discussion of The LOVE passage:

1 Corinthians 13:4-8

Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails.

We all concluded that it was impossible to love this way unless Christ lived in our hearts and gave us that supernatural love! We also were asked by bro Sam, "In the past month, what did someone do for you that touched your heart?" I tried hard but couldn't think of an answer!

One new mom commented that she felt touched, encouraged and loved by other moms in the fellowship. Another mom was touched that her hubby recently cooked her a meal after waiting 10 years! One dad (Mr. E) became our 'Exemplary Hubby of the Year' and got a standing ovation when his wife recounted how he would wash the dishes, prepare breakfast, bring the kid to school, supervise homework, and vacuum the floor daily to show his love for her! Many moms were envious and decided they would send their hubbies to Mr. E's house for "residency"!

True Love is is not making Comparison (of self, spouse or child with others), but also the not having Competition (with spouse or others). Most difficult is that Love is UNCOMFORTABLE at times!
When we display love, we sometimes need to do something we don't feel like doing, don't want to do, or are terribly uncomfortable doing!

We had a wonderful discussion, and at 11:15pm, our family went home, opened the front door, and found a big, loud intruder in our family room! I told hubby I can take care of it, but he insisted that he would do the honor and protect our family! And despite his extreme apprehension to creepy crawlies (Shhh....that's our secret), he stepped up to the plate and took it like it man!

After a long, hard battle with the intruder, hubby laughed heartily and relished his victory. I then remember tonight's question: What did someone do for you that touched your heart? That's IT!! Through sacrifice of one's comfort & facing one's fear, is how someone shows his love!

Sometimes love sucks the energy, health, patience, time, and comfort right out of us! Christ suffered the comfort of being with the Father and came down to the world, suffering shame and pain and ultimately sacificing His life ~ to show how much He adores us!

Happy Autumn everyone! God loves you very much! Thanks for your wonderful sharing and may the Lord continue to help us overfill with love for one another, whether we are in our lovable moments or not.

Abbie's New Adventure in Kid's Kingdom!

Abbie loves learning from her morning teacher, Miss Rosie!

Abbie's first week of school! She hopped out of the car and dashed for her classroom! I've never seen enthusiasm as this!

Abbie had been anticipating the opening of her new preschool for some time now! Finally, this week she officially started in her new preschool at Calvary Chapel RSM! It's called, "Kid's Kingdom" Preschool!

We couldn't believe it, there are currently only 3 girls in her Tuesday/Thursday class! And when daddy picked her up after work, he was surprised that Abbie was the only one in school from lunchtime until 5:50pm! It's definately private education, with a teacher:kid ratio of 1:3, then 1:1 after lunch! I can't imagine her napping in a little cot at school all by herself!

I peeked from the hallway in her first day of circle time and took pictures of them. It was wonderful to hear the teacher read "Little Prayers for Little Girls" and other Bible stories to the kids! They even prayed together before lunch! We are so blessed by the school's love and attention to detail ~ especially regarding Abbie's food allergies!

Abbie looks forward to the fun and individual attention here! It's a brand new school and maybe more kids will join her as the year progresses, but for now, we're enjoying every minute of it! Thank you for your prayers everyone! And by the way, when Abbie got home, she started to 'teach' her students (a bunch of Disney princesses) and sat them in circle time (and nap!)...just like Miss Rosie! (^_^)

Today Caleb and I picked up Abbie, since hubby's on a business trip. It's Caleb first time at CCRSM and he couldn't help playing the fun toys in the classroom!

We got a picture of her afternoon teacher, Miss Daniela! She is very gentle and kind to the kids!

Abbie's homework today was the letter B! There were pictures of a bell, butterfly, and Bible! The Bible verse today was "Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness, and all these things will be added to you!". This was the verse our pastor encouraged us with (and even asked us to sing in the middle of his sermon) this past Sunday! Wow! God is surely creative in reminding us of important promises, isn't he? Abbie's homework encouraged me a lot too!

Today is a rainy day, and I bet the slides are wet! Yet the kids couldn't help but play for awhile in the playground before we left the school!

Accomplishing my goal....10 years later!

Today I was amazed at how long it took for me to finish a project I started TEN years ago! It was September 1999 when I purchased my "Two by Two ~ Noah's Ark Baby Quilt" Cross-stitch kit! At the time, we were only married for 1 year, and I didn't have much to do after work. So I thought I'd start a new hobby.

I decided I was going to cross-stitch a baby quilt for my future kid....if I am blessed with one! It won't take too long, I figured. Well, 2 years later the quilt was only 5% completed, and Caleb arrived! Then Abbie came along! My babies were growing up and I still haven't finished my quilt! And before I knew it, it's been 10 years!

So this past summer, I decided the kids are big enough (and won't be jabbing themselves w/my needle), so I picked up my long-forgotten quilt and got to work.

(3 months later.....)
Looking at the completed quilt, I was so amazed at how simple, and at times even boring each stitch was.....yet it worked together to make a beautiful picture at the end! I guess this quilt will be given to my future grandchild, since the kids are now too old to use a crib blanket! (^_^)

Life at times could be like that, whether it be cross-stitching, working at the office, or raising little ones. Each day may seem monotonous, routine, boring, colorless, and there are lots of mistakes along the way (if you look carefully).....yet when we look at the big picture one day, we see how our hard work, time, and energy resulted in a beautiful, abundant life!

So press on, my dears, because your labor of love is not in vain, and the Lord remembers each moment you sacrifice for Him and others.

What a Weekend! Our new little house!

This weekend we bought and built a new house!! Hubby wasn't thrilled....thought it'll take him forever...but he was done in an hour! (^_^) We had to get a new house for Kobee 'cuz he has been destroying and escaping from his cage for some time now! One day he even flew away and landed on our street!

I was surprised that daddy's helper was so interested in doing 'Bob the Builder' work!

She really has daddy's engineering genes! Abbie ran around helping daddy find parts, and really likes to build things....like bird cages!

Kobee wasn't sure if he likes the brand new cage...he was suspicious at first, then curious, then amused....and finally he yawned twice 'cuz he's bored! So in case anyone's wondering...that's what we've been up to all weekend!
